Dr. Jerilyn Morrissey serves as Versalus Health’s Senior Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs. Dr. Morrissey is responsible for regulatory, private payer, and utilization management education for case management staff and physicians. She is passionate about using data and technology to help hospitals in navigating complex Medicare regulations as well as understanding payer practices and their impact on the hospital revenue cycle. Her experience as a practicing physician, a Physician Advisor for a nationally recognized health system and as a Director of Clinical Information for a national payer, afford her a unique perspective to solve utilization management evolving challenges.
Before joining Versalus Health, Dr. Morrissey served as a Physician Advisor for Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) where she led a team of Physician Advisors providing utilization management reviews, physician and utilization management staff education, and appeal preparation. Prior to CHI, she was Director of Clinical Integration at WellPoint. At WellPoint, she leveraged her clinical and operational knowledge from previous physician reviewer experience to create proprietary clinical decision support tools to increase operational efficiencies in the clinical reviewer process.
She is a Board-Certified Pediatrician licensed as a physician and surgeon in the state of California who practiced primary care in a variety of clinical settings for over 10 years. During her years in practice, she held the position of Pediatric Department Chair and developed an interest in process improvement, medical informatics, compliance, and utilization effectiveness.
Dr. Morrissey received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the Illinois Wesleyan University and her medical degree from the University of Illinois.
