Appeals Specialist – Peer to Peer

Position Type: Part Time (Monday – Friday, 3pm-8pm) 

Office Location: Newtown Square, Pa (Onsite Required)

Job Description and Responsibility:

  • Validate and schedule Peer to Peer requests
  • Must feel comfortable extracting data through multiple systems
  • Interact with hospital clients and payers over the phone and electronically
  • Cross trained on various functions within the department such as case entry support, Peer to Peer support, and appeals support
  • Other responsibilities as requested by management

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience of accessing hospital EMR’s and Payer Portals preferred
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Accurate keyboard skills

Physical Requirements:

May be expected to sit at a desk for long hours.  Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Ability to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
